Welcome to Ecoff Elementary School

Our History

Ecoff Elementary opened its doors in the fall of 1990 with a student population of 532 and a staff of 36. Constructed on a former golf course and located adjacent to a county park, Ecoff has a peaceful, rural setting. Located in the village of Chester, the school now currently serves approximately 700 students.

Ecoff has a history of high academic expectations and student achievement. The school also focuses on teamwork among students, staff, parents, and the community. In addition, Ecoff is proud to be a school focused on Social Emotional Learning (SEL).  Since its inception, it has remained a fully accredited school with the State of Virginia.

Students at Ecoff are encouraged to develop leadership skills through many different avenues, such as Friendly Helpers. These organizations create opportunities for the students to demonstrate CCPS core values and for the school to celebrate the many ways the students can contribute to the school community. In addition, Children’s Engineering and Problem Based Learning programs offer enrichment opportunities to all of the students and provide additional chances for them to develop critical thinking skills.
